About Nicole Ripley

Born and raised in Nelson, BC, Nicole spent many years working, travelling, volunteering and studying across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. She is a mother of three children. Nicole is driven by improving her own as well as others well-being. She has worked in the Okanagan Valley as a Traumatologist for the past six years, specializing in traumatic injury. She has recently relocated with her family back to the West Kootenays with excitement to provide counselling services and get back to her mountain life.

 

Nicole holds proficiency in the assessment and treatment of a broad range of psychological issues, including depression & anxiety, addictions and trauma/PTSD. She has diverse experience providing clinical services for people experiencing chronic pain, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), transitional life issues (i.e. bereavement, occupational), child behavioural or emotional concerns, stress, relationship and parenting issues, and other life adversities.

 

Nicole provides counselling using an integrative approach to self-improvement, however she relies on modalities such as:

 

  • EMDR
  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical (DBT)
  • Emotionally-Focused and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT).

 

She also offers services via eTherapy Online in both video, phone and text format.

 

Nicole works with many EAP and extended health providers. She is registered with several subsidized agencies including Crime Victims Assistance, ICBC, WorkSafeBC, First Nations Health Authority and more.
